Solatrium Project

…a Contemporary take on a Mid-Century Ranch House

The Solatrium house plans feature a contemporary take on a classic mid-century ranch house. Created in the spirit of architectural masters like Cliff May and Frank Lloyd Wright, this custom residential design melds modern convenience and technology with beloved retro details from the 1950's and 1960's. The Solatrium's defining characteristic is its transparency, with expansive walls of glass that create a seamless connection between indoor-outdoor spaces, truly integrating the home with its surrounding landscape.

Premium materials elevate the aesthetic throughout, featuring concrete, steel, stone, and standing seam metal roofing in a sophisticated, organic palette. Within this designer home, you'll discover a clean-lined minimalist aesthetic highlighted by open ceilings and multiple skylights that flood spaces with natural light.

The Solatrium emphasizes sustainable living through passive solar design principles and energy-efficient features that reduce environmental impact while enhancing comfort. Available in sizes ranging from intimate 1,200 square foot layouts to spacious 4,000 square foot plans with 2-4 bedrooms, these modern designs can be fully customized to suit your specific site and lifestyle needs.

The Solatrium house is designed to be inherently fire resistant. It utilizes tempered glass and a steel post and beam frame set on a concrete slab foundation. As shown in the renderings, a standing seam metal roof is specified. A wide variety of fire resistant materials are available for exterior cladding, including, stone, concrete, Hardie panels, SIP's, Class A treated wood, and metal. The plan offers complete flexibility in this regard.
